Anyone can choose to adore the Blessed Sacrament any time the Church is open, whether during set times of Exposition or before the Tabernacle.  By signing up to be a First Friday Adorer, you are choosing to make a commitment to come and pray for an hour before the Exposed Blessed Sacrament.  It is a ministry for you to be present for an hour for this special prayer which also allows others to come to the Church and pray since the Blessed Sacrament should never be left alone while it is exposed on the altar. Your presence and commitment allows us to have Exposition available for this extended period of 12 hours every First Friday of the month.

As we bring First Friday Adoration back at St. Bernadette as a ministry, we need people who can commit to a set time every First Friday so that the Blessed Sacrament is never left alone during this time of Exposition.  Even though there will certainly be flexibility to account for the unexpected, the hope is that the time you select will be your set Adoration time for the coming months.

The time slots for First Friday begin at 9:00am (the approximate conclusion of Mass and beginning of Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament) and continue in hour increments until 7:00pm.

If you know that you cannot make your scheduled time in advance, you can propose to trade with another Adorer or submit a substitute request through our scheduling system, MSP.  If you have a last minute need or an emergency arise, please call the Office of Worship at 832-915-5616 so we can be sure that other Adorers will be present at that time slot.  This is also why we would like to have a group of Adorers committed to every hour time slot.
