Our Social Justice & Outreach MinistryYour Christian Action is the social justice and outreach parish ministry at St. Bernadette. We assist parishioners and those within our community in times of crisis, promote an awareness of the needs of the underprivileged, and provide the opportunity for parish members to become directly involved with charitable works. Christian Action relies on the ongoing financial donations and donations of clothing and food from our parishioners and community to be successful.

Thanksgiving Boxes & Gift Cards
The holidays are sneaking up on us! Thanksgiving is a time to be grateful for the blessings God’s given us through the year. We give thanks for our families, our health, our homes, and our jobs. And when the dinner comes to the table, we give thanks for our food.
Please consider participating in St. Bernadette’s Thanksgiving drive. What better way to share with those in need than to offer them a chance at a Thanksgiving dinner! This year we are hoping to help families in the Clear Creek Independent School District, our twinning parish of Immaculate Heart of Mary, Denver Harbor community, and Family Promise of Clear Creek.
We are starting early so our friends in need can be all set for Thanksgiving and make the most of the pre-Thanksgiving grocery sales! Empty boxes and “turkey” tags will be available for pick up TODAY.
Ways you can help…- Thanksgiving Fixings Boxes: Pick up a box TODAY and fill it with the list of items included. You are free to pick up more than one box!
- The Thanksgiving Gift Card Giving Tree will be adorned with “turkey paper ornaments” with a label that asks for a $30 gift card from Kroger or HEB or Walmart. These gift cards will be provided to the families with a “Sponsored Thanksgiving Fixings Box”. This will let the families buy their choice of protein for Thanksgiving! Please feel free to choose a turkey or two or three!
- Consider doing both…a Thanksgiving Fixing Box and a gift card!
You may return the filled boxes and/or the gift card to the Mass you attend and place them in the green Christian Action bin located in the narthex of the Church, or drop them off at your Christian Action office no later than SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2024. Christian Action office will be receiving donations Monday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to noon. -

WOW! What a successful drive! St. B supported and donated enough items to stock them for 6 months! They will certainly be put to good use! The Community Pregnancy Center of Pasadena and Christian Action are so grateful. Let’s see if we can surpass these numbers next year!

Please link your Kroger card to the Christian Action Food Pantry
An easy way to support your Christian Action Food Pantry is through the Kroger Community Rewards Program. Even if you have linked your card in the past, you need to re-enroll. Here are the steps:
- Click the button to go to the Kroger site
- Click on the organge button that says "Enroll Now"
- Search for Organization Number 80652 and then clock on the button nest to St. Bernadette Christian Action
- Click the orange button that says "Enroll Now"
That is it! Every time you shop at Kroger (once you are enrolled), you will be helping your food pantry here at St. Bernadette. THANK YOU!
