The courtyard area didn't drain as well as we wanted.  We had drainage experts look at this area to see what could be done.  They also looked at the sidewalks where the water pools in heavy rains.  We called this area Lake Bernadette.  The work below has been completed:

• The dead shrubs and a few live ones were removed on the Education side of the courtyard
• All other plant matter, vines, small trees were removed
• The entire area was graded to enhance drainage to the existing drain system
• The sidewalk in the center of Lake Bernadette had a lateral drain installed to disperse the water that tended to pond
• Sprinkler pipe were repaired, new sprinkler heads installed
• Sod was installed
  

All the work that was required to improve the drainage in the courtyard and front sidewalks has been completed.  All that remains is encouraging the new sod to grow in the late fall.
