Since the inception of the annual St. Bernadette Gala in 2015, close to $90,000 has been raised to benefit special projects such as: youth room remodel, music hymnals, bus transportation for youth events, PLC camera, Mission Trip, classroom painting, flooring, classrooms rugs, laminating machine, safety communication equipment, iPads and internet access, Technology curriculum needs, campus-wide software updates, camera equipment for virtual programs, monthly zoom subscription, retreat scholarships,  and A/V equipment purchases. 

In a festive spirit, the Gala's purpose is to capture the generosity of all participants and through this generosity continue to fund the many ministries of charity, formation, spiritual guidance, faithful discipleship, and community worship.

General Auction Rules:

1. By bidding in the live or online auctions, each bidder agrees to these auction rules.
2. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.  There will be no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted.  Auction items, except where specified, are not exchangeable, refundable or transferable. All items are "as is."  St. Bernadette Catholic Church and the Auction Committee have attempted to describe and catalog items correctly, but neither warrants nor represents and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance or condition of the items.  No statement made on this website, or made orally at the auction or elsewhere, shall be deemed such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.
3. The value listed is an estimate of fair market value.  Items have not been appraised unless so noted.  The amount you pay above is fair market value estimate is normally tax deductible as a charitable contribution.  Please consult your tax advisor to clarify amount of deduction.
4. Restaurant certificates do not include alcohol, tax, or gratuities unless specified.
5. Travel expenses to and from destination on trips or rentals are not included unless specified. 
6. Payment for items purchase must be made in full on the night of the auction to the cashier.  St. Bernadette Catholic Church will gladly accept cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover or your check payable to St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
7. Following payments, an Auction volunteer will direct and assist you in picking up your purchases. You must show your paid receipt for items to be picked up.
8. The winning bidder must pick up all items the night of the auction, unless special arrangements are made.  Any item left unclaimed, without prior arrangements, will be sold and proceeds will go to St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
9. St. Bernadette Catholic Church reserves the right to add or withdraw items, without notice, to or from the auction.
10. Please make a special note of all expiration dates on items, services and gift certificates.
11. Each person bidding assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained at the auction.  Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising indirectly from St. Bernadette Catholic Church, the Archdiocese of Galveston Houston, Daniel Cardinal DiNardo and his successors, or any employees or volunteers connected with the auction. 

Online Auction:

1. Online Auction items will be displayed in the Marius and Tasker rooms and can also be viewed through a mobile device online at https://www.biddingforgood.com/stbchurch. The link was distributed with seat assignment email.
2. To participate in the Online Auction, you must access the link and register at the TOP of the page, which requires a credit card.
3. To place a bid, select an item and enter your bid then click "Place your Bid".
4. Online Auction closes systematically at 9:30pm CST and awarded items will be processed and credit cards charged. Winning bidders will be notified systematically via email.
5. Online Auction items will be available for pick up in the Marius and Tasker rooms during Auction Checkout, which begins at 10:00pm.
6. In the event of a dispute, the Auction Chair will act as final authority. 
7. Gift cards, gift certificates and other type of certificates, etc. are not generally at the table where the items are physically located. The winning bidder of each auction item will receive an envelope marked with the auction item number at the checkout table. If any of the online auction items contain any of these items they will be inside the envelope. Please check the envelope carefully to insure that the contents are complete before payment is accepted.

1. Live Auction may be previewed in the designated live auction area from the time the doors open. Please feel free to examine the items and note any restrictions, limitation, sizes, etc.
2. The live auction will begin at 9:30pm and will continue without intermission until all items have been auctioned.
3. To enter a bid, the bidder holds up their hand so that the auctioneer or one of the spotters can see it. The auctioneer will determine who the successful bidder is.
4. Successful bidders for the live auction must sign a receipt. At that time, they should verify that the name, amount, and item description are correct.
5. In the event of any dispute between bidders, the Auctioneer will act as the sole and final authority.
6. Value set forth for items being auctioned are donor's estimates and are not warranted by the auction for general value.
7. The live auction checkout area is combined with the silent auction checkout and will open at 10:00pm.
