Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission. (CCC#1213)
Requirements for the Parents:
Both parents must attend a preparation workshop, and are encouraged to attend before the baby is born. You have several months until the birth of the child, so plan ahead!
In 2021, our Infant Baptism Preparation Workshops will be held on January 24th, April 25th, July 25th, October 24th.
All workshops will take place in Parish Life Center (PLC) from 1 pm to 5pm.
Due to Covid-19 guidelines on the number of individuals allowed to attend the in-person class, which is 25, St. Bernadette parishioners will have priority.
There is no fee for parishioners of St. Bernadette. The fee for non-parishioners is $35 per married couple or $35 for an individual.

...I am not an active Catholic?
The bottom line is: we want you to be active! The baptism of a child can be a special time of conversion for the parents, a time when God gives many graces. God is mercy and love! So if you find yourself not actively practicing as a Catholic, please consider that now is the time to begin!

...my wedding was not in the Catholic Church?
You are not required to be married in the Church to baptize your child. Please know that as parents you are the primary teachers of the faith to your children. Baptizing your children means that you want them to be raised as Catholics. The example you set will have a deep impact on them. If you would like to inquire about being married in the Catholic Church, please contact Deacon Kevin at the number below or email: woodvinek@stbchurch.org
