Come, Pilgrims of Hope! Learn how we are strengthened by the Mass for the good of the world! The two days of the mission will have different areas of focus: Day 1 focuses on how preparing for Mass and the Introductory Rites through the Liturgy of the Word prepare us as the mystical Body of Christ; Day 2 focuses on how the Liturgy of the Eucharist through the Concluding Rites fortify us in our mission as Pilgrims of Hope in the world.
Structure of the Mission: KEYNOTES @ 3p & repeated @ 7p. The keynotes for each night are different. Monday focuses on the 1st part of the Mass, and Tuesday focuses more on the Eucharist and being "sent" on God's Mission of Hope in the world. Break-out sessions @ 4p & repeated at 7:35p on BOTH days. The break-out sessions are also different each day of the mission. Pilgrims will choose two (2) sessions to attend. See descriptions below:

Deacon Rick Ewan: Day 1: Christ's Presence in the Liturgy of the Word - We will explore how we come to know and experience Christ in the Liturgy of the Word.; Day 2: Christ's Presence in the Liturgy of the Eucharist - We will explore how we experience Christ in the Liturgy of the Eucharist. How is Christ truly present in the Eucharist?
Dr. Jason Honeycutt: Day 1: Symbolism & Theological Archetypes in the Liturgy - A look at how the parts of the liturgy act as symbols of the heavenly liturgy and connect us to liturgical archetypes across time and space. (Part 1); Day 2: Symbolism & Theological Archetypes in the Liturgy - A look at how the parts of the liturgy act as symbols of the heavenly liturgy and connect us to liturgical archetypes across time and space. (Part 2)
Brian & Cristina Garcia-Luense: Day 1: Mindset for Mass - Do you go to mass to get or to give? What difference does our “mindset for mass” make in our experience? How do we prepare ourselves before we walk through the doors? Let's talk about the part of mass that happens before we pick a pew or even get to the church parking lot! Day 2: Who is offering what? And why? - What is the connection between ourselves, our money, and bread and wine? Is Jesus doing something, or are we? Why are we doing what we do? Let's explore together what is happening at the "offertory".
Gerry Kraynik: Day 1: Elderhood in the Mystical Body of Christ– What is it? How do I embrace it? Elderhood can be a beautiful and fulfilling time in life or a time to fear. We will talk about new ways of thinking about growing older and wiser. And how to live through it with dignity, grace, and peace. Day 2: Christian Elders on a Mission - How can I become a blessing elder? We will talk about how our faith stories are signs of hope in the world, and how our loving mission in the church passes the torch of our faith to generations to come.
Christopher Sentmanat: Day 1: Active Participation in the Liturgy - We will look at what it means to be participatory in the liturgy and how it is related to the heart of the Church. Day 2: Mission and the Liturgy -We will look at how the mission of the Church and the liturgy are connected. Also how knowing the theology of the liturgy can influence our evangelism. (These sessions are for general audiences in the afternoons, but will be for the Youth Track in the evenings.)
