Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the
Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You
into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually
into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
Well, its time. Its time for us to return to Eucharist. We do so while the Covid 19 Pandemic is still seriously surrounding us. We do so amid risks and warnings and with great caution. Its time to return to Eucharist.
Our celebrations of the Eucharist will be adapted, as they have been these last months, to the current pandemic. There will be smaller crowds, no touching, measured seating, wearing masks, modified singing and other measures to minimize the risks. There will be a need, as before, for home health checks for all members before getting in the car and “going to Church.”
Our celebrations of the Eucharist will return to the main sanctuary. We have not been in the sanctuary since March 10. It will be good to be there again. Our return to Eucharist in the sanctuary will also allow us to once again celebrate funerals and weddings as before.
I would like to invite you to join us for Eucharist if you have discerned and recognized the many risks that our gathering invokes. If you are unable to join us, please know that you and your household are constantly in our prayer. We will continue to record the Saturday Evening Eucharist and post it online for viewing on Sunday Morning.

I look forward to celebrating the most precious and holy and beautiful Eucharist with you, the People of God of St. Bernadette.
Comfort us, O Lord, for we are like your disciples on the storm-tossed seas, unsettled by what lies ahead. We turn to You, our Healer and Guide, to still our hearts in our time of need and hear our prayer:
Heal those who are sick with the coronavirus and protect the elderly and most vulnerable. Give strength to all who tend to our health and wisdom to researchers who work toward a cure. Open our eyes and hearts, as you did during Hurricane Harvey, that we may look beyond our immediate needs to care for others who need help.
Through the Holy Spirit, guide our leaders to make wise decisions for the welfare of all the people they serve.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died from the virus. May Mary, Our Mother, who has heard our pleas in the storms of our lives, intercede to her Son, that we may find healing and a prompt end to this illness.
Mary, Star of the Sea, pray for us.
Jesus Christ, Our Lord, and Savior, heal us. Amen.
"It is of the essence of the Church that she be both human and divine,
visible and yet invisibly equipped, eager to act and yet intent on contemplation,
present in this world and yet not at home in it;
and she is all these things in such wise that in her the human is directed and subordinated to the divine,
the visible likewise to the invisible, action to contemplation,
and this present world to that city yet to come, which we seek."
